Nicky - The Facility Dog of the Monroe County Courthouse

The Court has a Facility Dog on the premises as part of its Canine in the  Courts Initiative.  Nicholas, or "Nicky" as he's known, is a lab/retriever mix that has been trained to work mainly with children when they need to come to the Courthouse.

The Monroe County Bar Foundation supports all of Nicky's needs, including food, veterinarian visits, or anything he might need.  Nicky sometimes visits community events or schools.  You can reach out to Nicky and request he visit by completing this form and submitting it to his handler via the instructions provided.

The Monroe County Bar Foundation is hosting a fundraiser for Nicky on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at ShawneeCraft Brewery, Shawnee on Delaware, beginning at 4:30 PM.  You can purchase tickets at the door for $25 for adults, $15 for 4-14 years old, kids under 4 are free.  Pizza, snacks, and 2 coupons for ShawneeCraft brews, wine, or soft drinks!  There will be photo opportunities with Nicky, or you can play tic-tac-toe for a small donation.  Tricky Trays donated by friends of Nicky will also be available!
