Our Scholarships

The Monroe County Bar Foundation offers scholarships each year to graduating seniors who are furthering their education.

Students from the four Monroe County Public Schools may apply for the general scholarship. Click here for general scholarship guidelines. The application for the graduating class of 2025 can be found here and must be submitted no later than March 28, 2025.

Students from Pocono Mountain East and Pocono Mountain West may apply for the The Honorable Ronald E. Vican Scholarship. Click here for guidelines and the application. The application for the graduating class of 2025 must be submitted no later than March 28, 2025.

May 2025 - Students and their families joined Chairman William Reaser and Ms. Joan Vican as they awarded $12,000 in scholarships to local college bound students. 

In honor of the late Judge Ronald E. Vican, the Foundation awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Nathaniel Brooks from Pocono Mountain East High School.  Mr. Brooks will be attending the University of Florida for Aerospace Engineering.  Also awarded in honor of late Judge Ronald E. Vican, is Trinity Moore from Pocono Mountain West High School who is attending Temple University for Early Education. We were honored to have Ms. Joan Vican join us in remembering her late husband during our Law Day Ceremony.

The Foundation also awarded Meghan Brozusky from East Stroudsburg South, Pocono Mountain East's Emily Olenick, Peter Leyba from Stroudsburg, Lillian Erhardt from Pleasant Valley and Pocono Mountain West's Aaliyah Muriel each with $2,000 in support of their career paths. Students will be furthering their education at colleges and universities including Susquehanna University, Penn State University, Temple and Wilkes University.  Areas of concentration ranges from government, law, business and political science.
